“Umbrella Art Fair is an annual art fair where the heartbeat of Washington, DC’s art scene converges with the avant-garde talents of national and international artists and makers. Umbrella is a declaration of artistic independence, a rebellion against the mundane, and a celebration of the daring.
Founded in 2019, Umbrella brings together more than 150 artists and independent curators over three days and has driven over $750,000+ in art sales and 60,000 attendees to the fair in just three events (2019, 2021, 2023). We take no commission from artists, with all art sales going to the pockets of those exhibiting.

“For ten days in October, a curated group of artists from around the globe will travel to Washington, DC to paint larger-than-life murals at our annual celebration of art and creativity. The outdoor festival launched originally in 2016, and is the local chapter of the World Wide Walls Family based in Hawai’i. The international mural festival returns under a new banner D.C. Walls. DC Walls is Directed and curated by artist Kelly Towles.
Since its founding in Hawai’i of 2010 by Jasper Wong, the festival has expanded and grown into a global network of artists. It organizes the production of art, exhibitions, lecture series, creative community spaces, schools for art and music, concerts, and live art installations across the globe.
For 2024 Festival DC Walls is thrilled to be collaborating with NASA.
BEYOND - We're expanding our impact on the community through art, AND we're venturing into uncharted territory with murals in brand new locations.”

“Join us at Washington Studio School on September 28th for an unforgettable Art All Night from 7pm to 11pm, as we explore DC’s vibrant street art scene. Our latest exhibition, Civic Tongue, features the work of 10 renowned DC street artists and challenges them to bring their work indoors as they reflect on the topic of democracy. The evening will be filled with energy as KERIM The DJ curates an immersive sound experience, blending DJ tracks with live drum beats. Visitors will have the chance to express themselves through our wheat pasting and slap tag activations, where they can contribute their own art to this community-centric project. Alternatively, visitors can sketch from a custom skyline landscape in the form of an elaborate still life—an opportunity to capture the city from a fresh perspective. Art All Night at WSS will be where art, music, and community come together in a celebration you won’t want to miss!”

“DC's largest, best selling, and most attended art fair is returning this November 17-19…
Umbrella is an annual art-fair where the heartbeat of Washington DC’s art scene converges with the innovative talents of national and international artists. Umbrella is a declaration of artistic independence, a rebellion against the mundane, and a celebration of the daring. But more importantly, Umbrella is a space to provide economic opportunities for artists and creative entrepreneurs to showcase and sell their works.
Founded in 2019, Umbrella brings together more than two hundred artists and independent curators over three days. Umbrella has driven over 500,000+ in art sales and 35,000 attendees to the fair in just two events (2019, 2021). We take no commission from artists, with all art sales going to the pockets of those exhibiting.
This year will be no different-- Umbrella will once again break records and set the standard for what the DC art scene can achieve together. “
